Ratha Yatra

The grand chariot festival of Lord Jagannath, Baladeva, and Subhadra.

The Lord of the Universe on the Streets

Ratha Yatra is one of the oldest and most celebrated festivals in the world. It commemorates the journey of Lord Jagannath with His brother Baladeva and sister Subhadra from their temple to their garden house (Gundicha Temple). It represents the Lord's longing to bring all souls back to their spiritual home.

Participation and Mercy

It is said that anyone who sees the Lord on His chariot or helps pull the ropes will be freed from the cycle of birth and death. At ISKCON Asansol, we pull the majestic chariot through the streets, accompanied by ecstatic dancing and kirtan, sharing the Lord's mercy with the entire community.
